Sheena was devastated. She wanted to get back together with ex boyfriend Peter. Peter had told her that he needed some “space.” He had said that he still cared for her but didn’t want to date exclusively any more.

What should Sheena do to get back together with her ex boyfriend? Should she call him and text him? Should she show up and flirt with his friends? Should she ignore him completely?

And, there is a strong likelihood that Peter would just be angry at Sheena and push her even further away.

Another option Sheena considered was just ignoring him altogether. Maybe in some ways, because she was so hurt by Peter’s “rejection”, she wanted to punish him in turn.

But, if she is open and receptive but not pushy when they meet each other in social situations that are not contrived, she shows him what a wonderful woman and wonderful human being she is. She becomes someone that he wants to spend time with. She has allowed him to see her at her best.

Sheena has a number of options if she wants to get back together with ex. But, her best option is simply to listen to Peter. He’s said he needs space. So, she should give it to him. She should let him have the opportunity to decide whether to get back together.

My guess is that ex boyfriend Peter will come back to Sheena and he’ll be ready to take the relationship to the next level. If Sheena plays her cards right, she will have a stronger relationship overall.

That’s how I think she can get ex back into a healthy relationship.

The struggles continue but there are some things you should think about to see if saving a relationship like the one you are in is worth the challenge. Another very important thing to consider when you are deciding if this relationship is worth saving is do they make you feel like you are understood. Do you listen to your spouse? Do you feel like you are being listened to and that they understand you? Spend some time and try to see if they do.

A relationship is supposed to be a place where you can go when you need comforted. Is the relationship one that makes you feel comfort when you have gone through something bad? Is the relationship something that you constantly need comforted about? If you are looking elsewhere for comfort, there may be a problem.

If there are questions about faithfulness or infidelity, they need to be addressed. Are you able to trust them? Are they able to trust you? If you have a problem answering either one of those questions affirmatively, then you may either need some serious marriage counseling or couple’s therapy.

In saving a relationship, there are many other things to consider and a decision like this should not be taken lightly. Ask hard questions and search hard for answers and then you may be able to find if saving a relationship like the one you are in is worth it.

If the reason that you are in the situation where your spouse is because you have been unfaithful there are things that you should and shouldn’t do to help. If there is something that you did that is the problem, don’t tell them that you can change or try to talk them into believing it, make the change. There may be situations where the one you love has been guilty of breaking trust and has been guilty of infidelity. Think of how you would want them to give you another chance. If you feel that you would be it very well may be that they deserve one as well. Put yourself in their shoes and treat them the way you would want to be treated. Try to understand why this happened. It very well may be that it can be resolved. Many times, however, it can not be.
