If you’ve stayed friendly and you haven’t insulted each other, the chances of you getting back together are better than if things had gotten ugly. But even if the breakup was bad, people can forgive and set aside those hurt feelings if they try hard enough.

When you’ve asked your friends, “Can I get my ex back?” some of them probably told you that maybe you could. Some might have shouted “No way!” And some probably said they didn’t know.

Your closest friends probably know a lot about your break up situation, so their thoughts on the matter are important to you. But unless they’ve broken up with someone and gotten them back, they really don’t know the keys to getting someone back. Plus they are possiblay too close to be able to take non-emotional point of view consquently they tell you what they think you wnat to hear.

They might think you’re foolish when you ask them, “Can I get my ex back?” But maybe they think you shouldn’t want your ex back in the first place. It’s hard for them to be supportive if you do want your ex back, if they never liked him or her to start with.

Take all the advice you can get, but remember that not all of it is good advice. Beware of any extreme advice, like people telling you that you should just date several people or start another relationship to make your ex jealous. Jealousy could lead to your ex deciding to let you go, since you give the appearance that you’re already moving on.

When you ask some people, “Can I get my ex back?” they might encourage you to have many casual relationships and to forget about your ex. The decision is yours, but your goal is to not do anything to drive your ex farther away. Your ex finding out that you’ve slept with one or more people while you’ve been trying to get them back isn’t going to help your case.

The only truly honest answer to the question, “Can I get my ex back?” is maybe. To give yourself the best chance of getting back together with your ex, you need to make them miss you. You don’t have to date other people or make them jealous to do that.

Just be the best “you” you can be when you’re around them. We all like to be around pleasant, happy and friendly people. Be a good friend, be positive and helpful. Once you’ve made it clear you want another chance, trust that your ex knows that and has it on their mind.

Be the best person you can be when you’re around your ex, even if it’s hard. This will help them remember the reasons they fell in love with you in the first place.

Sheena was devastated. She wanted to get back together with ex boyfriend Peter. Peter had told her that he needed some “space.” He had said that he still cared for her but didn’t want to date exclusively any more.

What should Sheena do to get back together with her ex boyfriend? Should she call him and text him? Should she show up and flirt with his friends? Should she ignore him completely?

I am totally convinced that she should do none of these. Instead, she should listen to him.

He says that he loves her but that he needs space. While this may seem like a cliché, the truth is that many times when people use this line they really do mean what they say.

Sometimes a relationship just gets ahead of a person particularly where men are concerned. They may not be ready for the responsibilities a relationship carries. But that doesn’t mean that they don’t love their ex. In fact, they may love him or her too much and want to take a step back.

Given that this is the case, let’s take a look at what disastrous things can happen if you handle the situation badly.

For instance, if Sheena were to endlessly pursue Peter with calls, emails and texts, she wouldn’t be giving him the space he needed to get his head straight. Letters, gifts, and singing songs (like in Romeo and Juliet) under his window late at night would have the same effect.

One of Sheena’s friends suggested that she start flirting with all of Peter’s friends to make him jealous in an attempt to get back together with ex. This is a common recommendation because it is assumed that men will want what other men have. The problem is that by playing games now, Sheena would be jeopardizing her relationship in the future. And, there is a strong likelihood that Peter would just be angry at Sheena and push her even further away.

Another option Sheena considered was just ignoring him altogether. Maybe in some ways, because she was so hurt by Peter’s “rejection”, she wanted to punish him in turn.

But, if she is open and receptive but not pushy when they meet each other in social situations that are not contrived, she shows him what a wonderful woman and wonderful human being she is. She becomes someone that he wants to spend time with. She has allowed him to see her at her best.

Sheena has a number of options if she wants to get back together with ex. But, her best option is simply to listen to Peter. He’s said he needs space. So, she should give it to him. She should let him have the opportunity to decide whether to get back together.

My guess is that ex boyfriend Peter will come back to Sheena and he’ll be ready to take the relationship to the next level. If Sheena plays her cards right, she will have a stronger relationship overall.

That’s how I think she can get ex back into a healthy relationship.

If the reason that you are in the situation where your spouse is because you have been unfaithful there are things that you should and shouldn’t do to help. If there is something that you did that is the problem, don’t tell them that you can change or try to talk them into believing it, make the change. Actions speak louder than words. If it is something that is a matter of trust that you have hurt, don’t do it again. In fact don’t do anything that will give your spouse any reason to question your faithfulness. If you want the to love you and trust you, you have to prove that you are worthy of trust again. It will take time and hopefully you have not burned them so much that they will never trust you. If you have broken trust, the truth is you don’t deserve to be trusted.

It is the efforts to be faithful that will assure them that you are changing. Don’t deny that you have betrayed their trust and don’t try to justify it. Don’t get mad because they don’t trust you and don’t argue about it. If you messed up, own up and take responsibility.

There may be situations where the one you love has been guilty of breaking trust and has been guilty of infidelity. Think of how you would want them to give you another chance. If you feel that you would be it very well may be that they deserve one as well. Put yourself in their shoes and treat them the way you would want to be treated. Try to understand why this happened. It very well may be that it can be resolved. Many times, however, it can not be.

Be ready for depression to come because of what the two of you are going through. It isn’t easy to deal with this and you may need some kind of therapy to help you cope and understand what is happening.
